When tempted by the allurements of a deceitful world,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When struggling against the inclinations of my corrupt nature,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When tempted against the holy virtue of purity,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When death is nigh,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When the loss of my senses
shall warn me that my earthly career is at an end,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When the thought of my approaching dissolution
shall fill me with fear and terror,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When at the decisive hour of death,
the evil spirit will endeavor to plunge my soul into despair,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When the priest of God shall give me
his last absolution and his last blessing,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When my friends and relations,
surrounding my bed, moved with compassion,
shall invoke thy clemency on my behalf,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When the world will vanish from my sight,
and my heart will cease to beat,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When I shall yield my soul into the hands of its Creator,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When my soul will appear before its Sovereign Judge,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When the irrevocable sentence will be pronounced,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

When I will be suffering in Purgatory,
and sighing for the vision of God,
Come to my aid, O loving Mother.

Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,
Spare us, O Lord.

Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,
Graciously hear us, O Lord.

Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.

Let Us Pray
O Almighty and merciful God,
Who, in order to succor the human race,
hast willed the Blessed Virgin Mary
to become the Mother of Thy only-begotten Son,
grant, we beseech Thee,
that by her intercession
we may avoid the contagion of sin
and serve Thee with a pure heart,
through the same Christ Our Lord.

Amen

Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help

Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help

(Pray for 9 consecutive days)

In this novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help (also known as Our Mother of Perpetual Help from this icon pictured above) we pay tribute to the Blessed Virgin Mary in asking for her assistance. This picture of the Blessed Mother with her Divine Son above has helped her provide strength, comfort and even miracles to the faithful for centuries!

Mother of Perpetual Help, you are the dispenser of every grace that God grants us in our misery.
For this reason He has made you so powerful, so rich, and so kind that you might help us in our needs.
You are the advocate of the most wretched and abandoned sinners, if they but come to you.
Come to my aid for I commend myself to you.
In your hands I place my eternal salvation; to you I entrust my soul.
Count me among your most faithful servants. Take me under your protection; that is enough for me.
If you protect me, I shall fear nothing: not my sins, because you will obtain for me their pardon and remission; not the evil spirits, because you are mightier than all the powers of Hell; not even Jesus, my Judge, because He is appeased by a single prayer from you.
I fear only that through my own negligence I may forget to recommend myself to you and so lose my soul.
My dear Lady, obtain for me the forgiveness of my sins, love for Jesus, final perseverance, and the grace to have recourse to you at all times, Mother of Perpetual Help.

Say Three Hail Marys

O Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever invoke your most powerful name, which is the safeguard of the living and the salvation of the dying.
O Purest Mary, O Sweetest Mary, let your name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay not, O Blessed Lady, to help me whenever I call on you, for, in all my temptations, in all my needs, I shall never cease to call on you, ever repeating your sacred name, Mary, Mary.
O what consolation, what sweetness, what confidence, what emotion fills my soul when I utter your sacred name, or even only think of you.
I thank God for having given you, for my good, so sweet, so powerful, so lovely a name. But I will not be content with merely uttering your name; let my hope in you prompt me ever to hail you, Mother of Perpetual Help.

PRAYER FOR PERSECUTED PRIESTS

 PRAYER FOR PERSECUTED PRIESTS

All Powerful and Eternal God, through the merits of Your Son Jesus, and Through Your love for Him, I implore You, have pity on the priests of the Holy Church. In spite of their sublime dignity, they are fearful and weak, like all created beings. In your infinite mercy, inflame their hearts with the fire of Divine Love. For the sake of Jesus, Your Son, bestow grace on the priests and uphold them. Do not let them fall into temptation and tarnish their noble vocation.

O Jesus, we implore you. Look with pity on the priests of the Holy Church: those who are serving You faithfully and proclaiming Your glory; those who are persecuted for tending your flock; those who are abandoned, weary and sorrowful: those who are lukewarm, confused and who have denied their faith; those who are sick, dying, or in Purgatory. Lord Jesus, we entreat You. Listen to our supplication, have pity and console them.

O Jesus, we entrust to You the priests of the whole world: the priests who baptized me, absolved my sins, offered Holy Mass and consecrated the Eucharist to nourish my soul. We entrust to You the priests that instructed me when I was ignorant, gave me strength in my weakness, showed me the Way and the Truth and comforted me in my sorrow and affliction. For all the blessings they obtained for me, I implore You to support them in Your Loving Kindness.

O Jesus, shelter our priests in Your Sacred Heart. Let them take refuge in Your mercy and love, in this life, and to the hour of death. Amen.

By his Eminence the late Ignatius Cardinal Kung, Bishop of Shanghai.

Therefore, I beseech blessed Mary ever Virgin,
blessed Michael the Archangel,
blessed John the Baptist,
the holy apostles Peter and Paul,
and all the saints,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.
Amen.

P. May Almighty God have mercy on you,
forgive you your sins,
and bring you to life everlasting.

R. Amen.

MIRACLE OF ST. ANTHONY AND THE MULE

MIRACLE OF ST. ANTHONY AND THE MULE (June 13th)

One of the reasons why Saint Anthony worked so hard to convert heretics was because he genuinely felt sorry for them. He saw that they were depriving themselves of the Church and the most precious gift to the Church, the Most Holy Eucharist. He truly believed that no one could long survive without this spiritual nourishment.

One day, a heretic told Anthony that he would believe that Christ was truly present in the Eucharist only if his mule bowed down to it.

They established that the test should take place in three days. The heretic starved his mule for the next three days. When the appointed time had arrived, Anthony stood off to one side with the consecrated host in his hands, while the heretic stood to the other holding some fodder for the mule to eat. The mule, ignoring its own extreme hunger, went before the Eucharist and knelt down to adore the Blessed Sacrament.

Prayer Inspired by the Our Father

A Prayer Inspired by the Our Father

Our Father most holy: Our Creator, Redeemer,

Consoler, and Saviour:
Who are in heaven: In the angels and the saints,
enlightening them to know, for You, Lord, are light;
inflaming them to love, for You, Lord, are love; dwelling
in them and filling them with happiness, for You, Lord,
are Supreme Good, the Eternal Good, from Whom all
good comes without Whom there is no good.
Holy be Your Name: May knowledge of You become clearer
in us that we may know the breadth of Your blessings, the
length of Your promises, the height of Your majesty, the
depth of Your judgments.
Your kingdom come: That You may rule in us through Your
grace and enable us to come to Your kingdom where
there is clear vision of You, perfect love of You, blessed
companionship with You, eternal enjoyment of You.
Your will be done on earth as in heaven: That we may love
You with our whole heart by always thinking of You,
with our whole soul by always desiring You, with our
whole mind by always directing all our intentions to
You, and by seeking Your glory in everything, with all
our whole strength by exerting all our energies and
affections of body and soul in the service of Your love
and of nothing else; and we may love our neighbour
as ourselves by drawing them all to Your love with our
whole strength, by rejoicing in the good of others as in
our own, by suffering with others at their misfortunes,
and by giving offence to no one.
Give us this day: in remembrance, understanding, and
reverence of that love which [our Lord Jesus Christ]
had for us and of those things that He said and did and
suffered for us.
Our daily Bread: Your own beloved Son, our Lord Jesus
Christ.
Forgive us our trespasses: through Your ineffable mercy
through the power of the passion of Your beloved Son
and through the merits and intercession of the ever
blessed Virgin and all Your elect.
As we forgive those who trespass against us: And what we do
not completely forgive, make us, Lord, forgive completely
that we may truly love our enemies because of You
and we may fervently intercede for them before You,
returning no one evil for evil and we may strive to help
everyone in You.
And lead us not into temptation: hidden or obvious, sudden
or persistent.
But deliver us from evil: past, present, and to come.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy
Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Novena to Saint Rita to ask for Impossible Favors

Rita of Cascia, born Margherita Lotti, was an Italian widow and Augustinian nun venerated as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church. After Rita's husband died, she joined an Augustinian community of religious sisters, where she was known both for practicing mortification of the flesh and for the efficacy of her prayers. Wikipedia
Born: 1381, Roccaporena, Italy
Died: 22 May 1457, Cascia, Italy
Feast: 22 May
Canonized: 24 May 1900, Vatican City, Rome by Pope Leo XIII
Children: Giangiacomo Antonio Mancini, Paulo Maria Mancini
Parents: Amata Ferri, Antonio Lotti

Novena to Saint Rita
(May 13 to 21)

O glorious St. Rita, your pleadings before the divine crucifix have been known to grant favors that many would call the impossible.

Lovely St. Rita, so humble, so pure, so devoted in your love for thy crucified Jesus, speak on my behalf for my petition which seems so impossible from my humbled position.

(mention your intention here)

Be propitious, O glorious St. Rita, to my petition, showing thy power with God on behalf of thy supplicant.

Be lavish to me, as thou has been in so many wonderful cases for the greater glory of God.

I promise, dear St. Rita, if my petition is granted, to glorify thee, by making known they favor, to bless and sing thy praises forever.

Relying then upon thy merits and power before the Sacred Heart of Jesus I pray.

Amen.

Chaplet of the Precious Blood

Chaplet of the Precious Blood

Each bead of the Precious Blood Chaplet is, as it were, a chalice filled with the Divine Blood of Jesus, uplifted by Our Lady to the Eternal Father, imploring every grace necessary for your soul and body.

The chaplet consists of seven mysteries in which we meditate on the seven principal blood-sheddings of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus. The beads number thirty three in honor of the thirty three years the Precious Blood flowed in the veins of Jesus before it was all poured out on the Cross for our salvation. Its seven petitions unite with each of the seven blood-sheddings, making up seven chapters in the gospel of Christ’s love for me: “He loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.”

To pray this chaplet, recite the Our Father on each of the thirty-three beads, completing each of the seven groups with the Glory Be, as thanksgiving to the Holy Trinity for this great gift of the Precious Blood.

While reciting this chaplet, you are asked to meditate on each of the seven blood-sheddings of Jesus.

V. O God, come to my assistance!

R. Lord, make haste to help me!

V. Glory be to the Father…

R. As it was in the beginning…

1st Mystery: Jesus shed His Blood in the Circumcision.

Let us ask for chastity of soul and body. Say the Our Father five times then recite the following: “Incline unto my aid, O God. O Lord, make haste to help me.” Say one Glory Be, and complete the mystery by reciting: “We beseech Thee, therefore, help Thy servants whom Thou has redeemed by Thy Precious Blood.”

2nd Mystery: Jesus shed His Blood whilst praying in the Garden of Olives.

Let us ask for the spirit of prayer.

3rd Mystery: Jesus shed His Blood in the scourging.

Let us ask for the grace of mortification.

4th Mystery: Jesus shed His Blood in the crowning with thorns.

Let us ask for contempt of worldly honors.

5th Mystery: Jesus shed His Blood while carrying His cross.

Let us ask for patience.

6th Mystery: Jesus shed His Blood in the crucifixion.

Let us ask for contrition for our sins.

7th Mystery: Jesus shed His Blood and water when His side was pierced.

Let us ask for the grace of perseverance. Say the Our Father three times then recite the following: “Incline unto my aid, O God. O Lord, make haste to help me.” Say one Glory Be, and complete the mystery by reciting: “We beseech Thee, therefore, help Thy servants whom Thou has redeemed by Thy Precious Blood.”

Final Prayer

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ in satisfaction for my sins, for the needs of Holy Church and for the relief of the souls in purgatory.

Act of Consecration of the human race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (By Pope Pius XI)

Act of Consecration of the human race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

(By Pope Pius XI)

Most sweet Jesus,

Redeemer of the human race,

look down upon us,

humbly prostrate before Thine altar.

We are Thine and Thine we wish to be;

but to be more surely united with Thee,

behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today

to Thy Most Sacred Heart.

Many, indeed, have never known Thee;

many, too, despising Thy precepts,

have rejected Thee.

Have mercy on them all,

most merciful Jesus,

and draw them to Thy Sacred Heart.

Be Thou King, O Lord,

not only of the faithful who have never forsaken Thee,

but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned Thee,

grant that they may quickly return to their Father's house,

lest they die of wretchedness and hunger.

Be Thou King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions,

or whom discord keeps aloof

and call them back to the harbour of truth and unity of faith,

so that soon there may be but one flock and one shepherd.

Be Thou King of all those who even now sit in the shadow of idolatry or Islam,

and refuse not Thou to bring them into the light of Thy kingdom.

Look, finally, with eyes of pity upon the children of that race,

which was for so long a time Thy chosen people;

and let Thy Blood, which was once invoked upon them in vengeance,

now descend upon them also in a cleansing flood of redemption and eternal life.

Grant, O Lord,

to Thy Church,

assurance of freedom and immunity from harm;

give peace and order to all nations,

and make the earth resound

from pole to pole with one cry:

Praise to the Divine Heart

that wrought our salvation:

to it be glory

and honour forever.

Amen.

Evening Prayer

O my God, at the end of this day

I thank you with all my heart

for all the graces I have received from you.

I am sorry that I have not made a better use of them.

I am sorry for all the sins I have committed against you.

Forgive me, O my God,

and graciously protect me this night.

Blessed Virgin Mary, my dear mother,

take me under your protection.

St. Joseph, my dear Guardian Angel,

and all you saints of God, pray for me.

Amen.

Prayer for the feast of Corpus Christi

Prayer for the feast of Corpus Christi

Throughout the year, O Jesus,

thou dost remain humbly hidden within the tabernacle,

awaiting, receiving, and hearing the souls

who come to Thy feet in search of sympathy

and consolation in their sorrows,

light and support in the trials of life.

Only on this day,

leaving Thy silent loneliness,

Thou goest forth,

passing in triumph and benediction

through the streets and squares of the cities

in a maze of lights and music,

incense and flowers,

in the midst of joyous multitudes,

who fall down in adoration before Thee.

In the synagogue of Capharnaum,

the unbelieving throng,

rebelling against Thy words of faith and love, deserted Thee;

but in the Upper Room that last evening of Thine earthly life,

when the dark clouds of betrayal

were already settling upon Thy sorrowful soul,

Thou didst make Thy divine promise a reality,

perpetuating in the institution of the Holy Eucharist,

as in a living memorial,

the infinite love with which Thy Heart

was overflowing towards mankind.

By means of this august Sacrament,

Thou wouldst prolong Thy presence in the world

even to the end of time;

and the souls of men,

seated at Thy heavenly banquet,

were to taste inwardly the sweet irradiations of Thy grace

and the ineffable delights of Thy love.

O Jesus, make me feel the overwhelming attraction of Thy silent tabernacle,

which has ever drawn not only the little ones,

but has always been and will continue to be

the joy of pure and great souls.

Grant me a living faith and an ardent love

for Thee hidden under the sacramental species,

so that, frequently drawing near to Thy table

where the "Bread of Life" is set out,

I may receive the germ of a life that will not die.

Amen.

A Christ Centered Prayer for Our Soul

Do you need a break from life’s daily grind? Turn to Jesus in The Anima Christi (Latin for “Soul of Christ”), a prayer inviting us to ask our Lord for comfort, strength, and guidance.

It offers us a chance to meditate on His Passion and pray for His help to gain Eternal Life. The Anima Christi is profoundly Christ-centered. It is often recited after communion.

Please take this prayer home with you and pray with your family! Share this prayer to others and be blessed...

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ
Sanctify me
Body of Christ save me
Water from the side of Christ
Wash me, Passion of Christ
Give me strength

Hear me Jesus
Hide me in thy wounds
That I may never leave thy side
From all the evil that surrounds me
Defend me and when the call of death arrives
Bid me come to thee
That I may praise thee
With thy saints forever

Hear me Jesus
Hide me in thy wounds
That I may never leave thy side
From all the evil that surrounds me
Defend me and when the call of death arrives
Bid me come to thee
That I may praise thee
With thy saints forever

Prayer for help to The SACRED HEART OF JESUS and IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

Prayer for help to The SACRED HEART OF JESUS and IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

O Heart of Jesus pierced for our sins and giving us your Mother on Calvary!
O Heart of Mary pierced by sorrow and sharing in the sufferings of your divine Son for our redemption!
O sacred union of these Two Hearts!
Praised be the God of Love who united them together!
May we unite our hearts and every heart so that all hearts may live in unity in imitation of that sacred unity which exists in these Two Hearts.
Triumph, O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary! Reign, O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus! – in our hearts, in our homes and families, in the hearts of those who as yet do not know you, and in all nations of the world.
Establish in the hearts of all mankind the sovereign triumph and reign of your Two Hearts so that the earth may resound from pole to pole with one cry:
Blessed forever be the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary!
Obtain for me a greater purity of heart and a fervent love of the spiritual life.
May all my actions be done for the greater glory of God in union with the divine heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Hear and answer our prayers and intentions ....... (MENTION YOUR PETITION) ....... according to your most merciful will. Amen.

RENEWAL OF THE CONSECRATION OF THE FAMILY TO THE SACRED HEART

DEVOTION TO THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS AND THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

RENEWAL OF THE CONSECRATION OF THE FAMILY TO THE SACRED HEART

To be said at night prayers in union with all families in which the Sacred Heart has been enthroned:
Most Sweet Jesus, humbly kneeling at Your feet, we renew the consecration of our family to Your Divine Heart. Be  our King forever! In You we have full and entire confidence. May Your spirit penetrate our thoughts, our desires, our words, and our works. Bless our undertakings, share in our joys, in our trials and our labors. Grant us to know You better, to love You more, to serve You without faltering.

By the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of Peace, set up Your kingdom in our country. Enter closely into the midst of our families and make them Yours through the solemn enthronement of Your Sacred Heart, so that soon one cry may resound from home to home: "May the triumphant Heart of Jesus be everywhere loved, blessed, and glorified forever!" Honor and glory to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary! Sacred Heart of Jesus, protect our families. Amen.

Special Occasions on Which the Family Should Renew the Act of Consecration.
1. Feast of the Sacred Heart; Christ the King.
2. Anniversary of the Enthronement.
3. Anniversary of parents and children.
4. At births; after Baptism in the Church consecrate the children to the Sacred Heart before the "throne."
5. At First Communion; prepare the children before the image of the Sacred Heart in the home. When they return from church, let them renew the act of consecration made for them by parents at birth.
6. Before the departure from home of a member: to join army, convent, seminary, before marriage.
7. On the return of an absent member of the family.
8. On days of great family joys; in times of sorrow, sickness, and death.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Have mercy on us!
Immaculate Heart of Mary, Pray for us!
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy kingdom come!
