HOW TO PRAY THE SAINT GERTRUDE CHAPLET (For the Release of Souls in the Purgatory)

 

The Chaplet of St. Gertrude for the Holy Souls in Purgatory is a wonderful prayer to pray in November, which is the month the Church has dedicated to remembering the holy souls in purgatory.

The Holy Souls in Purgatory

What is purgatory? The Church teaches us that this is a place for souls who have died but who were not perfectly purified in order to enter into heaven. They have died in God’s grace, but their venial faults remained and they need to pay the debt owed for their transgressions.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines purgatory as a “purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven,” which is experienced by those “who die in God's grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified.”
-CCC 1030

In the Gospel of St. Matthew, Jesus references purgatory when he says, “Amen I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last penny” (Matthew 5:26). We also see reference to it in the Old Testament as well, in the Second Book of Maccabees:2 Maccabees 12:39-46

St. Gertrude the Great and the Holy Souls

 St. Gertrude, the Great was a 13th-century nun who, after being orphaned at age 5, grew up in a monastery in Germany with the Benedictine nuns.

Her entire life was ordered around prayer and encounters with Christ, who gave her a glimpse into His Sacred Heart and the plight of the holy souls in purgatory.

St. Gertrude the Great received many private revelations about purgatory while in prayer.  In St. Gertrude’s revelations, she tells us that our prayers for the souls in purgatory are very effective in lessening their time in purgation. She teaches that we must pray these prayers with charity for the souls who are suffering in the afterlife.

St. Gertrude the Great’s prayer for the holy souls in purgatory is the prayer our Church continues to pray each November for more than 800 years!

People: I invoke my natural law rights over my own property and finances. I lift any curses sent against me or my property or finances. I reject any sins that may have led to these curses coming against me and ask for God's forgiveness. I break any unholy bonds that allowed such curses to come upon me. Lord Jesus Christ, true light that enlightens every man who comes into this world, bestow Thy blessing upon these candles, and sanctify them with the light of Thy grace.

ANIMA SOLA ("LONE SOUL") PRAYER

Introduction:

Anima Sola, also known as the “LONE SOUL” prayer, is a Catholic prayer that is recited after an individual has died.

However, it can be said for someone who is facing major life changes, depression, abandonment and loneliness.

This is also said for a poor soul in Purgatory who is alone, unloved, unremembered and hopeless to get help from others.

According to tradition, this prayer was recited by a monk named Gregory of Sinai in an isolated monastery in the eleventh century. Animas Solas became a common prayer in many countries during the 15th century:

"Lord, I am so lonely and despaired.

I cry out for your help.

My soul is empty and restless.

Fill it with your glory, O Lord!

Anima Sola

Alone, I am lonely.

Alone, I feel lost and afraid.

Alone, I have no one to talk to.

Dangers of Parent's Curses On Their Children

DANGERS OF BEING CURSED BY PARENTS

A mother brought her possessed child to Padre Pio. The child was howling in the Church making a commotion. He helped free the child from the demon and then told the mother "Tell your husband not to curse or the demon will return."
Children never anger your parents even his mind fails, be considerate to them.

ACT OF DENOUNCING EVIL

Heavenly Father,

When my heart is cast down by failure at seeing no good coming from my efforts:

Oh, kindly Saint Raphael the Archangel, I invoke you as the patron of those who have been struck by disease or bodily infirmity.

You have prepared the remedy that healed Tobias’ blindness and his name means “The Lord Heals.”

I turn to you, begging your divine assistance in my present need:

If it be of God’s will, cure my illness, or at least grant me the grace and strength I need to endure it patiently, offering it for the forgiveness of my sins and for the salvation of my soul.

Teach me to unite my sufferings with those of Jesus and Mary and to seek the grace of God in prayer and communion.

I want to imitate you in your eagerness to do God’s will in all things.

Like young Tobias, I choose you as my companion on my journey through this valley of tears. I want to follow your inspirations every step of the way, so that I can reach the end of my journey under your constant protection and in the grace of God.

Archangel Saint Raphael, you revealed yourself as the divine assistant of the Throne of God, come into my life and help me in this moment of trial.

Any family that is suffering from the curse of sins made by their forefathers and makes a 144 day novena through this prayer, will be freed. All who break a covenant and are supposed to die shall be saved and also be released from their curse if they constantly say this prayer and repent. My children, how terrible will it be to fall into God's anger! Turn from your sins and live. I love you all. Be healed."

 Eternal Father, You are the only Immortal God, God Who is love, merciful and kind. Look at Your only- begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and have mercy. I offer You the pains of His scourging at the pillar, His wounds and blood, for all Your people who are under the weight of the curse due to the sins of their ancestors and their disobedience for breaking the covenant they made with You. Glorious Archangel St. Michael, Prince of the heavenly host, be our defense in the terrible warfare which we carry on against principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, and spirits of evil.

Come to the aid of man, whom God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil. Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist Thee, nor was there place for them any longer in heaven. That cruel, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan, who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with his angels.

Behold, this primeval enemy and slayer of men has taken courage. Transformed into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay and cast into eternal perdition souls destined for the crown of eternal glory. This wicked dragon pours out, as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men; his depraved mind, corrupt heart, his spirit of lying, impiety, blasphemy, his pestilential breath of impurity and of every vice and iniquity. These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the Spouse of the Immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where has been set up the See of the most holy Peter and the Chair of Truth for the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered.

Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and give them the victory. They venerate Thee as their protector and patron; in Thee Holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious power of hell; to Thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude. Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly conciliate the mercies of the Lord; and beating down the dragon, the ancient serpent who is the devil and Satan, do Thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations. Amen.
