Prayer Asking for Forgiveness From God

An Appeal to God for Pardon

O most merciful and loving God,
I come before You humbled and sorrowful for my sins.
I have offended You, my Creator and Redeemer,
and wounded the love You have so freely given me.

Look upon me with compassion, Lord.
Wash me clean with the Precious Blood of Jesus.
Forgive my faults — those I remember,
and those I have forgotten through weakness.

Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence,
but draw me near once more to Your mercy.

Help me to turn from sin,
to walk in Your ways,
and to love You with all my heart.
May Your grace strengthen me
to make amends and to live in peace.

Through Jesus Christ, Your Son,
Who lives and reigns with You forever.
