Prayer Against Evil Spirits and Powers | Catholic Prayer for Protection

Jesus Christ victorious over evil as the faithful pray for protection through His Holy Cross and Precious Blood.

Prayer Against Evil Spirits

As Catholics, we place our complete trust in the infinite power of God. While the reality of spiritual warfare is acknowledged in Sacred Scripture, we are reminded that Christ has already conquered sin, death, and the powers of darkness through His Passion, Death, and Resurrection. We need not live in fear, for our confidence rests in Jesus Christ alone.

The following prayer is a traditional prayer of protection. It invokes the Holy Name of Jesus, the saving power of His Holy Cross, and the Precious Blood He shed for our salvation. Pray it with faith, humility, and complete trust in God's holy will.

Prayer Against Evil Spirits and Powers

In His name and by the power of His Cross and Blood, I ask Jesus to bind any evil spirits, forces and powers of the earth, air, fire, or water, of the netherworld and the satanic forces of nature.

By the power of the Holy Spirit and by His authority, I ask Jesus Christ to break any curses, hexes, or spells and send them back to where they came from, if it be His Holy Will.

I beseech Thee Lord Jesus to protect us by pouring Thy Precious Blood on us (my family, etc.), which Thou hast shed for us and I ask Thee to command that any departing spirits leave quietly, without disturbance, and go straight to Thy Cross to dispose of as Thou sees fit.

Reflection

This prayer reminds us that our protection comes not from ourselves but from Jesus Christ. Every petition is directed to Him, recognizing His supreme authority over all creation and every spiritual power. We ask Him to deliver us from evil, always submitting ourselves to His holy will.

As Catholics, we should also remember that our greatest defense against the evil one is a life rooted in God's grace. Frequent reception of the Sacraments, daily prayer, reading Sacred Scripture, devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and trust in God's mercy strengthen us against temptation and spiritual attacks.

May this prayer encourage us to remain steadfast in faith, confident that Christ is our Savior, our refuge, and our everlasting hope.

"The Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one." — 2 Thessalonians 3:3
