Apostles Creed

Click this video for the recitation of the prayer and pray along
with it for a solemn act of prayer

ABOUT THE APOSTLES CREED

The Apostles' Creed is one of the most ancient and widely recognized statements of Christian faith in the Catholic tradition. It serves as a concise summary of the core beliefs held by Catholics and many other Christian denominations. This prayer is named after the apostles, as it is believed to reflect the essential teachings they handed down to the early Christian community.

The Apostles' Creed typically goes as follows:

"I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again; He ascended into heaven, He is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen."

This prayer is a declaration of faith, emphasizing key aspects of Catholic belief:

Belief in the Triune God: It begins with a declaration of faith in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—the three persons of the Holy Trinity.

The Incarnation: It affirms the belief that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, took on human form through the Virgin Mary and suffered for the salvation of humanity.

The Crucifixion and Resurrection: It acknowledges Christ's crucifixion, death, and burial, followed by His resurrection on the third day, which is central to Christian salvation.

The Ascension and Second Coming: It highlights Christ's ascension to heaven and His future role as the judge of the living and the dead.

Belief in the Holy Spirit: It affirms faith in the Holy Spirit, who guides and empowers believers in their Christian journey.

The Church and Communion of Saints: It acknowledges the importance of the universal Christian Church and the unity of all believers, both living and deceased.

Forgiveness of Sins: It underscores the belief in the forgiveness of sins through faith in Christ.

Resurrection and Eternal Life: It expresses the hope in the resurrection of the body and eternal life with God.

The Apostles' Creed is often recited in Catholic liturgical settings, such as during Mass, and is a fundamental expression of Catholic doctrine and belief, serving as a unifying statement of faith for Catholic Christians worldwide.

HOW TO PRAY THE HOLY ROSARY?

How to pray the Holy Rosary?

BEGIN BY MAKING THE SIGN OF THE CROSS
In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

RECITE THE CREED
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Pray the LORD'S PRAYER and three HAIL MARY'S for the virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity; end with GLORY BE

OUR FATHER Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, On earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

HAIL MARY Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death. Amen.

GLORY BE to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love you. I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love you. Amen.

Pray "HAIL HOLY QUEEN" after the five decades:
Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile show us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray. O God, Whose Only-Begotten Son, by His life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life: grant, we beseech Thee, that by meditating upon these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain, and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

For the intentions of the Pope, recite the "Our Father", one "Hail Mary", and one "Glory Be." Close with the sign of the cross.
