A Prayer for Valentine’s Day

Heavenly Father,

On this day of love, we come before You with grateful hearts. You are the source of all love, the One who teaches us to love unconditionally, just as You have loved us.

We thank You for the gift of love in all its forms—romantic, familial, and the deep friendships that bring joy to our lives. May our love reflect Your kindness, patience, and grace. Help us to cherish those around us, not just today, but every day.

Bless our relationships, that they may be rooted in trust, respect, and selflessness. For those longing for love, comfort their hearts and remind them that they are deeply loved by You. For those struggling in relationships, grant them wisdom, understanding, and healing.

Just as Saint Valentine showed courage and compassion, may we also love without fear, give without expecting in return, and be a light to those who need it most.

Lord, may our love be a reflection of Your perfect love. May we honor You in all that we do and spread love wherever we go.

NOVENA TO SAINT VALENTINE

O glorious advocate and protector, Saint Valentine,
look with pity upon our wants,
hear our requests,
attend to our prayers,
relieve by your intercession
the miseries under which we labor,
and obtain for us the Divine blessing,
that we may be found worthy to join you
in praising the Almighty for all eternity;
through the merits of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pray, then, O holy Martyr, for the Faithful,
who are so persevering in celebrating thy memory.
The day of Judgment will reveal to us
all thy glorious merits.
Oh! intercede for us,
that we may then be made thy companions
at the right hand of the Great Judge,
and be united with thee eternally in heaven.

Let us pray:

Grant, we beseech thee, O Almighty God,
that we who solemnize the festival of blessed Valentine,
Thy Martyr, may, by his intercession,
be delivered from all the evils that threaten us.
Through Christ our Lord.
