AN INSPIRATION FOR MEN TO SAY THE HOLY ROSARY

I went to confession and mass yesterday. While I was sitting down saying my prayers before mass I noticed a man in his 30s kneeling and praying the rosary. This man oozed out manliness and strength. I have seen men talk about all the hours they spend at the gym and pump up their muscles but I just laugh. I have heard men brag about all the guns they own but I just laugh. Yet when I saw this man kneeling and praying the rosary I could not stop thinking about how strong and manly he looked. I only looked his way for about 5 seconds because I didn't want him thinking I was some sort of creep or something. Sadly so many people don't understand the rosary. Sadly so many Catholics (especially men) think the rosary is only for little old ladies. That is not true. The rosary is very powerful. A priest once said the rosary is basically a mini-bible. If more and more people (especially men) prayed the rosary every day there would be a revolution. A good revolution.

This coming Sunday, June 9, the Catholic Church celebrates the Solemnity of Pentecost, or the great Feast of the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity. 4. KNOWLEDGE: When we receive the gift of knowledge, it enables us to discover God’s will in all things. “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).

5. PIETY (also known as Reverence): The gift of piety helps us to love God, our merciful Father, and to obey his precepts out of love for him. It moves our heart from serving God out of duty and obligation into a relationship of love.

6. FORTITUDE (also known as Courage): While the gifts of knowledge and wisdom help us know what we should do, the gift of fortitude strengthens our will so that we can actually accomplish what is true, good and beautiful. This gift is sometimes called the gift of courage and helps a person stand firm, even when persecuted, in doing the right thing.

7. FEAR OF THE LORD (also known as Wonder and Awe): Commonly misunderstood as the fear of a wrathful God ready to smite us, the gift of fear of the Lord is actually more positive than negative. It consists of a recognition of the grandeur of God and his primacy over all things. Fear of the Lord recognizes that God is the creator and sustainer of the universe and we are his creatures. This gift helps us to understand how we must depend on God for everything. In other words, he is God, we are not.

Grant me to regain peace and joy in the knowledge that you are the Resurrection and the Life.  Lord Jesus, thank you for sharing with me your wonderful ministry of healing and deliverance. Thank you for the healing I have experienced today. I realize that the sickness of evil is more than my humanity can bear, so I ask that you please cleanse me of any sadness and negative thinking or despair that I may have picked up during my intercession for others. If my ministry has tempted me to anger, impatience or lust, cleanse me of those temptations, and replace them with love, joy, and peace. If any evil spirits have attached themselves to me or oppressed me in any way, I command you, spirits of earth, fire, water, the netherworld, or of nature to depart now and go straight to Jesus Christ, for him to deal with you as he wills. Come Holy Spirit, renew me, fill me anew with your power, your life and your joy. Strengthen me where I feel weak and clothe me with your light. Fill me with your life. THE CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY (ROSARY)

At three o'clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great mercy. In this hour, I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion (Diary, 1320). As often as you hear the clock strike the third hour, immerse yourself completely in My mercy, adoring and glorifying it; invoke its omnipotence for the whole world, and particularly for poor sinners; for at that moment mercy was opened wide for every soul. Dear Lord, I ask you to turn this weakness into strength, suffering into compassion, sorrow into joy, and pain into comfort for others. May your servant trust in your goodness and hope in your faithfulness, even in the middle of this suffering. Let them be filled with patience and joy in your presence as they await for your healing touch.

Please restore your servant to full health, dear Father. Remove all fear and doubt from their heart by the power of your Holy Spirit, and may you, Lord, be glorified through their life.

As you heal and renew your servant, Lord, may they bless and praise you.

You have gained the attention of the great God Almighty himself, your father, your creator… the only thing which is real, right now, at this very moment, the only thing that exists is — you and him — together.

Now talk to him… talk to him as if you are a child… for you still are. In the measure of eternity, your time on earth is but just a passing moment. In the Eyes of God, you are a mere minute older than when he first breathed life into you. You are still his beloved child.. his creation…. a part of him.

“Dear Father,

You are the maker of everything especially when it comes to love and marriage. I pray that you put in our (the couple) hearts unconditional love and grate understanding of each other. Father, please take away all the pain and hurt in my heart.

Lord, fill my heart with love, joy, patience, and understanding. Bless me and my partner, shower our hearts with love for each other, and may you make each one of us comprehend each other’s worth. Father, please touch the heart of my partner, fill it with a pure love for me. Please make our complicated relationship become simpler.

Lord, I pray for your mercy and blessing. That you may let us to spend the rest of our lives with each other. Please make this feeling mutual for both of us. Lead us not into temptations. Lead us wherever we go. Always put us in each other’s heart and mind.

Father,help build our new life and make our marriage one worthy of admiration. Father, let our marriage inspire people to the knowledge of you. O Mary, Virgin most powerful and Mother of mercy, Queen of Heaven and Refuge of sinners, we consecrate ourselves to thine Immaculate Heart.

We consecrate to thee our very being and our whole life; all that we have, all that we love, all that we are. To thee we give our bodies, our hearts and our souls; to thee we give our homes, our families, our country. We desire that all that is in us and around us may belong to thee, and may share in the benefits of thy motherly benediction. And that this act of consecration may be truly efficacious and lasting, we renew this day at thy feet the promises of our Baptism and our first Holy Communion.

We pledge ourselves to profess courageously and at all times the truths of our holy Faith, and to live as befits Catholics who are duly submissive to all the directions of the Pope and the Bishops in communion with him. When Mother Teresa was facing an emergency situation she would pray an 'Emergency Novena' - nine Memorares in petition, then a tenth in thanksgiving. This is also known as an Express, or Flying novena. Like the rosary, you can use your fingers to count the prayers

Mother Teresa would pray the Memorare prayer nine times in a row rather than praying it once a day for 9 days. Her religious sisters, the Missionaries of Charity, continue this practice today.
