Prayer to Saint Rita

Rita of Cascia, born Margherita Lotti, (1381 – 22 May 1457) was an Italian widow and Augustinian nun venerated as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church.

In Christian iconography, she is depicted with a bleeding forehead wound and sometimes holding a thorn.Rita has acquired the reputation, together with St. Jude, as a saint of impossible causes. She is also the patron saint of sterility, abuse victims, loneliness, marriage difficulties, parenthood, widows, the sick, bodily ills, and wounds.

O Glorious St. Rita, who didst miraculously participate in the sorrowful Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ, obtain for me the grace to suffer with resignation the troubles of this life, and protect me in all my needs. Amen.

Prayer to St. Rita When in Special Need

O powerful St. Rita,rightly called

the Saint of the Impossible.

I come to you with confidence in my

great need. You know well my

trials, for you yourself were many

times burdened in this life. Come

to my help, speak for

me, pray with me, intercede on

my behalf before the Father. I

know that God has a most gene-

rous heart, and that He is a most loving Father. Join your

prayers to mine and obtain for

me the grace I desire, ( here mention your request ).

You, who were very pleasing to

God on earth, and are so much

so now in heaven, I promise to use this favor, when granted, to

better my life. To proclaim God's

mercy, and to make you more

widely known and loved.

AMEN

Pray the Novena Prayer to Our Lady of Good Remedy for Urgent Financial Need

Our Lady helped the religious orders to raise the funds to free the Catholic slaves in Europe. We also have recourse to her when we are in dire and desperate financial need.

Pray the following prayer once daily for 9 days.

  Lady of Good Remedy Novena

O Queen of Heaven and Earth, Most Holy Virgin, we venerate thee.

Thou art the beloved Daughter of the Most High God, the chosen Mother of the Incarnate Word, the Immaculate Spouse of the Holy Spirit, the Sacred Vessel of the Most Holy Trinity.

O Mother of the Divine Redeemer, who under the title of Our Lady of Good Remedy comes to the aid of all who call upon thee, extend thy maternal protection to us. We depend on thee, Dear Mother, as helpless and needy children depend on a tender and caring mother.

Hail, Mary….

O Lady of Good Remedy, source of unfailing help, grant that we may draw from thy treasury of graces in our time of need.

Touch the hearts of sinners, that they may seek reconciliation and forgiveness. Bring comfort to the afflicted and the lonely; help the poor and the hopeless; aid the sick and the suffering. May they be healed in body and strengthened in spirit to endure their sufferings with patient resignation and Christian fortitude.

Hail, Mary….

Dear Lady of Good Remedy, source of unfailing help, thy compassionate heart knows a remedy for every affliction and misery we encounter in life.

Help me with thy prayers and intercession to find a remedy for my problems and needs, especially for… (Indicate your special intentions here).

On my part, O loving Mother, I pledge myself to a more intensely Christian lifestyle, to a more careful observance of the laws of God, to be more conscientious in fulfilling the obligations of my state in life, and to strive to be a source of healing in this broken world of ours.

Dear Lady of Good Remedy, be ever present to me, and through thy intercession, may I enjoy health of body and peace of mind, and grow er in the faith and in the love of thy Son, Jesus.

Hail, Mary…..

V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of Good Remedy,R. That we may deepen our dedication to thy Son, and make the world alive with His Spirit.

Dedication of a Child to Our Lady of Guadalupe

 Dear Mary,

Your message of love and care on Tepeyac Hill

floated like a lilting lullaby

into the fresh golden dawn.

Softly you called to Juan Diego,

“least of your sons,”

a man of middle years,

but guileless and childlike in spirit.

Through him you invited all your children to come to you,

the ever-virgin Mother of God,

to look to you as a mother

who wanted only to show a mother’s love.

You would give them whatever they needed,

help and protection,

strength and comfort.

As a lasting proof you left us

your own marvelous picture,

unpainted by any human hand.

Today we bring to you

our child N.___________ (as yet Unborn).

May this little one always know

and love you as holy Mary,

Mother of the true God

in whom we live and have our being.

May this new soul,

fresh breathed forth from the creator,

giving life to the body,

be like the soul of Juan Diego,

simple, pure and good.

Dear Lady of Guadulupe,

touch this petal of our hearts

with the wintry roses of Tepeyac,

so that a fragrant joy and peace

may spread along its path of earthly life,

reminding men of you

and sweetly drawing them to your waiting heart.

Take this child as your own.

Lady lovely and demure,

enfolded in the mantle of your care,

until the day when in a new land,

all your children join with you,

their merciful mother,

endlessly giving praise and thanks

to God the Father,

Son and Holy Spirit.

Prayer to Our Lady of the Expectation

“Do not marvel at the novelty of the thing, if a Virgin gives birth to God.”

~Saint Jerome, Father and Doctor of the Church

“How often in these situations must Mary have returned inwardly to the hour when God’s angel had spoken to her, pondering afresh the greeting: ‘Rejoice, full of grace!’ and the consoling words: ‘Do not be afraid!’ The angel departs; her mission remains, and with it matures her inner closeness to God, a closeness that in her heart she is able to see and touch.” ~Pope Benedict XVI

“Him whom the heavens cannot contain, the womb of one woman bore. She ruled our Ruler; she carried Him in whom we are; she gave milk to our Bread.”

~St. Augustine

Prayer to Our Lady of the Expectation

“Heavenly Mother, Mother expecting; and Mother bearing Christ in your holy womb! Shower thy blessings on us who venerate thee. Protect us from the treacherous Satan. Shelter us in the tabernacle of thy womb.

O Holy womb that bore our Lord Jesus Christ! Mold us as expected by your beloved Son. Let our families inculcate good virtues. Let thy peace fill our families. Let faithfulness be strengthened among couples. Let the voice of vocation be heard and answered. Let wisdom, understanding and knowledge be implanted in our children.

Bless us with employment and industrial development. Bless us with good rain, agricultural growth and decent shelter. Bless us with the gift of Children. Bless pregnant mothers with safe delivery. Bless our journeys with safety and bless us with a burden-less life.

Bless all those who have lost their spouse. Bless the orphans and the destitute, physically challenged and the socially afflicted; the poor and helpless.

Let the priests and the religious lead a holy life. Let there be peace in the world. Let love for mankind, solidarity among religions and justice be established. Make us depend on Jesus Christ in our day to day life as you expect and may we say ‘Yes’ to God’s Holy Will. Lord! Like the holy seeping blood which gushed out from the cross, Bless and make us Holy and faithful to you as we wait  for you in the life to come.

Amen.

Prayer to Surrender Everything to Jesus

God’s ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not ours (Is 55:8) And His timetable is often not ours. He may not answer our prayers in a timely manner or in the way we think He should. But we can trust Him to know better than we do what is good for us

Do you find yourself trying not to surrender to despair with all the chaos and confusion all around us these days? Surrender to Jesus instead! Let the Surrender Novena to Jesus help you. Jesus gave this novena to the Servant of God Father Don Donlindo Ruotolo

The novena itself follows:

SURRENDER NOVENA TO JESUS

 NOVENA DAY 1:

Why do you confuse yourselves by worrying? Leave the care of your affairs to me and everything will be peaceful. I say to you in truth that every act of true, blind, complete surrender to me produces the effect that you desire and resolves all difficult situations.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!

(Say 10 times)

NOVENA DAY 2:

Surrender to me does not mean to fret, to be upset, or to lose hope, nor does it mean offering to me a worried prayer asking me to follow you and change your worry into prayer. It is against this surrender, deeply against it, to worry, to be nervous and to desire to think about the consequences of anything. It is like the confusion that children feel when they ask their mother to see to their needs, and then try to take care of those needs for themselves so that their childlike efforts get in their mother’s way. Surrender means to placidly close the eyes of the soul, to turn away from thoughts of tribulation and to put yourself in my care, so that only I act. Saying “You take care of it.”

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!

(Say 10 times)

NOVENA DAY 3:

How many things I do when the soul, in so much spiritual and material need, turns to me, looks at me and says to me; “You take care of it”, then closes its eyes and rests. In pain you pray for me to act, but that I act in the way you want. You do not turn to me, instead, you want me to adapt to your ideas. You are not sick people who ask the doctor to cure you, but rather sick people who tell the doctor how to. So do not act this way, but pray as I taught you in the Our Father: Hallowed be thy Name, that is, be glorified in my need. Thy kingdom come”, that is, let all that is in us and in the world be in accord with your kingdom. Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven, that is, in our need, decide as you see fit for our temporal and eternal life. If you say to me truly: Thy will be done. Which is the same as saying: You take care of it. I will intervene with all my omnipotence, and I will resolve the most difficult situations.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!

(Say 10 times)

NOVENA DAY 4:

You see evil growing instead of weakening? Do not worry, Close your eyes and say to me with faith: “Thy will be done, You take care of it”. I say to you that I will take care of it, and that I will intervene as does a doctor and I will accomplish miracles when they are needed. Do you see that the sick person is getting worse? Do not be upset, but close your eyes and say You take care of it. I say to you that I will take care of it, and that there is no medicine more powerful than my loving intervention. By my love, I promise this to you.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!

(Say 10 times)

NOVENA DAY 5:

And when I must lead you on a path different from the one you see, I will prepare you; I will carry you in my arms; I will let you find yourself, like children who have fallen asleep in their mother’s arms, on the other bank of the river. What troubles you and hurts you immensely are your reason, your thoughts and worry, and your desire at all costs to deal with what afflicts you.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!

(Say 10 times)

NOVENA DAY 6:

You are sleepless; you want to judge everything, direct everything and see to everything and you surrender to human strength, or worse- to men themselves, trusting in their intervention,- this is what hinders my words and my views. Oh how much I wish from you this surrender, to help you and how I suffer when I see you so agitated! Satan tries to do exactly this: to agitate you and to remove you from my protection and to throw you into the jaws of human initiative. So, trust only in me, rest in me, surrender to me in everything.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!

(Say 10 times)

NOVENA DAY 7:

I perform miracles in proportion to your full surrender to me and to your not thinking of yourselves. I sow treasure troves of graces when you are in the deepest poverty. No person of reason, no thinker, has ever performed miracles, not even among the saints. He does divine works whosoever surrenders to God. So don’t think about it any more, because your mind is acute and for you it is very hard to see evil and to trust in me and to not think of yourself. Do this for all your needs, do this all of you and you will see great continual silent miracles. I will take care of things, I promise this to you.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!

(Say 10 times)

NOVENA DAY 8:

Close your eyes and let yourself be carried away on the flowing current of my grace; close your eyes and do not think of the present, turning your thoughts away from the future just as you would from temptation. Repose in me, believing in my goodness, and I promise you by my love that if you say “You take care of it” I will take care of it all; I will console you, liberate you and guide you.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!

(Say 10 times)

NOVENA DAY 9:

Pray always in readiness to surrender, and you will receive from it great peace and great rewards, even when I confer on you the grace of immolation, of repentance and of love. Then what does suffering matter? It seems impossible to you? Close your eyes and say with all your soul, “Jesus, you take care of it.” Do not be afraid, I will take care of things and you will bless my name by humbling yourself. A thousand prayers cannot equal one single act of surrender, remember this well. There is no novena more effective than this:

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!

(Say 10 times)

Mother, I am yours now and forever

Through you and with you

I always want to belong

completely to Jesus

Prayer to Saint Joseph

May 1st - The Feast Of

Saint Joseph, The Worker

REMEMBER, O most pure Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, my great Protector, Saint Joseph, that no one ever had recourse to your protection, or implored your aid without obtaining relief. Confiding therefore in your goodness, I come before you. Do not turn down my petitions, foster Father of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, but graciously receive them. Amen.

Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker

 SAINT JOSEPH THE WORKER

1 MAY

Today as the World celebrates Labor Day, the Church also remembers Saint Joseph the Worker. Saint Joseph was the foster father of our Lord Jesus Christ, refer to the Gospel of Matthew 1: 18-25.

He was a man of integrity and of great heart.

He taught the Lord Jesus real human life and He also taught us the importance of fulfilling our answer to every task we are assigned.

In 1870 Holy Father Pius IX proclaimed Saint Joseph as Patron saint and Holy Father Benedict XV also declared Saint Joseph to be the Protector of the Workers.

In 1955 Holy Father Pius XII officially sanctioned the festival to coincide with the International Workers' Day.

Reflection:

This life of Saint Joseph the Worker teaches us to value legitimate work as the basis and dignity of every human being in the eyes of men because unemployment is against the precepts and will of GOD, GOD himself also worked, refer to the book of Genesis about creation we read that GOD worked read Genesis 1: 1 -.The Apostle Paul in one of his sermons or writings to emphasize the importance of work and said that he who does not work should not eat.

We are invited today to be people to do and appreciate our legitimate work in order to be able to run our daily lives otherwise it would be a great sin to live without working.

These Saints are also remembered for today's date
