The Litany of Trust (by The Sister of Life)

Praying this beautifully written litany by a Sister of Life will cast away so many anxieties, and give you peace about the past and future.

The Litany of Trust

From the belief that I have to earn Your love, Deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear that I am unlovable, Deliver me, Jesus.

From the false security that I have what it takes, Deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear that trusting You will leave me more destitute, Deliver me, Jesus.

From all suspicion of Your words and promises, Deliver me, Jesus.

From the rebellion against childlike dependency on You, Deliver me, Jesus.

From refusals and reluctances in accepting Your will, Deliver me, Jesus.

From anxiety about the future, Deliver me, Jesus.

From resentment or excessive preoccupation with the past, Deliver me, Jesus.

From restless self-seeking in the present moment, Deliver me, Jesus.

From disbelief in Your love and presence, Deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of being asked to give more than I have, Deliver me, Jesus.

From the belief that my life has no meaning or worth, Deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of what love demands, Deliver me, Jesus.

From discouragement, Deliver me, Jesus.

That You are continually holding me, sustaining me, loving me, Jesus, I trust in you.

That Your love goes deeper than my sins and failings, and transforms me, Jesus, I trust in you.

That not knowing what tomorrow brings is an invitation to lean on You, Jesus, I trust in you.

That you are with me in my suffering, Jesus, I trust in you.

That my suffering, united to Your own, will bear fruit in this life and the next, Jesus, I trust in you.

That You will not leave me orphan, that You are present in Your Church, Jesus, I trust in you.

That Your plan is better than anything else, Jesus, I trust in you.

That You always hear me and in Your goodness always respond to me, Jesus, I trust in you.

That You give me the grace to accept forgiveness and to forgive others, Jesus, I trust in you.

That You give me all the strength I need for what is asked, Jesus, I trust in you.

That my life is a gift, Jesus, I trust in you.

That You will teach me to trust You, Jesus, I trust in you.

That You are my Lord and my God, Jesus, I trust in you.

That I am Your beloved one, Jesus, I trust in you.

PRAYERS TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is a devotional representation of the love, compassion, and mercy of Jesus Christ for humanity. It is a symbol of His divine love, as well as His human heart, which was pierced for our sins on the cross. This devotion focuses on contemplating and responding to the love of Christ, acknowledging His presence in our lives, and seeking His grace and guidance.

Here are a few additional prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus:

Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus: Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Christ, hear us. Christ, graciously hear us.

God the Father of Heaven, have mercy on us. God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us. God the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us. Holy Trinity, one God, have mercy on us.

Heart of Jesus, Son of the Eternal Father, have mercy on us. Heart of Jesus, formed by the Holy Spirit in the womb of the Virgin Mother, have mercy on us. Heart of Jesus, of infinite majesty, have mercy on us. Heart of Jesus, holy temple of God, have mercy on us. Heart of Jesus, tabernacle of the Most High, have mercy on us. Heart of Jesus, house of God and gate of heaven, have mercy on us. Heart of Jesus, burning furnace of charity, have mercy on us. Heart of Jesus, abode of justice and love, have mercy on us. ...

(This is an abbreviated version. The complete litany contains several more invocations and can be found in Catholic prayer books or online.)

Prayer of Trust in the Sacred Heart:

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You. You know all things, and nothing is hidden from You. In my joys and sorrows, my successes and failures, I place my trust in Your loving providence. Guide me, protect me, and lead me always closer to You. Help me to surrender my will to Yours, and grant me the grace to seek Your holy and perfect will in all things. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You. Amen.

Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: O Sacred Heart of Jesus, to You I consecrate and offer up my whole being, my life, my actions, my desires, and my sufferings. I desire to be all Yours and to do all things for Your glory, abandoning myself entirely to Your loving will. I take You, O Sacred Heart, for the sole object of my love, the protection of my life, the pledge of my salvation, the remedy of my weakness and inconstancy, the atonement for all the faults of my life, and my secure refuge at the hour of my death. Be, O most merciful Heart, my justification before God the Father, and shield me from His anger, which I have so justly merited. I fear all from my own weakness and malice, but placing my entire confidence in You, O Heart of love, I hope all from Your infinite goodness. Annihilate in me all that can displease or resist You. Imprint Your pure love so deeply in my heart that I may never forget You or be separated from You. Grant that my name be engraved on Your Heart, for in this I place all my happiness and all my glory: to live and to die as one of Your devoted servants. Amen.

These prayers are just a few examples, and there are many more prayers and devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus available. You may also find specific prayers associated with the Feast of the Sacred Heart, which is typically celebrated on the Friday after the octave of Corpus Christi.

Remember that prayer is a deeply personal and intimate conversation with God. Feel free to express your own thoughts, feelings, and intentions when praying to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Prayer of Trust

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me.

I cannot know where it will end.

Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so.

But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you.

And I hope I have that desire in all I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.

And I know that if I do this, you will lead me by the right road, though I may seem to be lost in the shadow of death.

I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.
