Powerful Healing Prayer by St. Padre Pio

Image result for padre pio
Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving me.
I thank you for sending your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ,
to the world to save and to set me free.
I trust in your power and grace that sustain and restore me.
Loving Father, touch me now with your healing hands,
for I believe that your will is for me to be well in mind, body,
soul and spirit.
Cover me with the most precious blood of your Son, our Lord
Jesus Christ from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.
Cast anything that should not be in me.
Root out any unhealthy and abnormal cells.
Open any blocked arteries or veins and rebuild and replenish
any damaged areas.
Remove all inflammation and cleanse any infection by the
power of Jesus’ precious blood.
Let the fire of your healing love pass through my entire body
to heal and make new any diseased areas so that my body
will function the way you created it to function.
Touch also my mind and my emotion, even the deepest
recesses of my heart.
Saturate my entire being with your presence, love, joy, and
peace and draw me ever closer to you every moment of my life.
And Father, fill me with your Holy Spirit and empower me to
do your works so that my life will bring glory and honor to
your holy name. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen.

What You Should Do With Your Old Or Broken Rosary

This Is What You Should Do With Your Old Or Broken Rosary

When a rosary has been blessed by a bishop, priest, or deacon, it becomes a sacramental, and therefore should be treated with reverence and great care.
If you’re not sure if your rosary has been blessed, it would be best to follow these suggestions anyway.
Even rosaries that are not blessed are objects of spiritual significance to the Church.
So, what can you do with an old or broken rosary? Here are 5 suggestions:
1. Take it to your local Catholic bookstore or do an internet search for ministries that repair rosaries.
2. Bring it to a Catholic Church. They’ll know what to do!
3. Bury it.

4. Burn it, and then bury the ashes.
5. If the rosary is meaningful to you and beyond repair, purchase a box to keep it in so that it may continue to be cherished.
It is never acceptable to simply toss a rosary into the trash. The garbage is no place for a sacred object! If you are able to repair the rosary, consider using it. St. Francis de Sales said that, “The greatest method of praying is to pray the Rosary.”

IS IT A SIN TO HAVE TATTOO?

Image result for Tattoo

Are tattoos sin?

Perhaps the answer to this question is not as straightforward as we would like it to be. I think the best thing I can do is to offer some insights from Scripture and Catholic teaching to help you come to a good decision.
In the Old Testament we read from the Book of Leviticus the straightforward command, “ … do not tattoo yourselves” (19:28). The first letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians explains that “ … your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit … ” (6:19). And the Catechism of the Catholic Church says, “Except when performed for strictly therapeutic medical reasons, directly intended …, mutilations, … performed on innocent persons are against the moral law” (#2297).
So what does this all mean in regards to tattoos? First, I don’t think it means that tattoos are “intrinsically evil.” What I mean is that it would be an error to say that every tattoo in every circumstance is always wrong. Some cultures, for example, have a marking on the forehead to indicate ones marital status. Many Ethiopian Christians have the custom of tattooing a cross on their forehead to express their Christian faith. And we only need to look through the history books to see the many ways in which tattoos have been a part of many other cultures.
Culture, I believe, is one important aspect to look at when discussing the morality of tattoos. One key point is that in many of these cultural examples, tattoos are not only socially accepted, they are also often socially expected. That, of course, is not the case in the many countries. So what about getting a tattoo in your country and in your culture? Allow me to offer three considerations.
First, your body was made by God and is beautiful just as it is. To add an additional permanent marking to your body is not necessary. Some would even call it a mutilation. Doing this will not add to your bodies natural beauty. And since it is not a required part of our culture, there is no good reason to pursue one. Remember, your body truly is a temple of the Holy Spirit. We should, therefore, treat our body as we would God’s church. God has already designed and decorated this “church” in such a way that it really does not need an additional permanent alteration.
Second, if you were to decide to get a tattoo anyway, please avoid the following: Diabolical images, ugly images, shocking images, images pertaining to horoscopes, and simply put, any image contrary to the Christian faith. Any image like this would surely fall into the category of sin.
Third, make sure you are not acting out of peer pressure. Sometimes we can do things simply because our friends are doing it and we want to fit in. This is never a good reason. If our friends are real friends they will not pressure us into decisions like this nor will they look down on us if we choose not to “go with the flow.” Make sure your choice is not made out of pressure from others.

Divine Mercy will set you free today!!

Are you experiencing repeated setbacks, failures, discouragement and/or despair? Divine Mercy will set you free today!! Keep praying the Divine Mercy to cleanse you and your habitat..

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I offer to you today all the pains, struggles, failures, setbacks, discouragement and despair in my life. I join to your most Holy Wounds all the suffering, hardships and humiliations that I endured or enduring, being part of the body of Christ. I offer all the lost and locust years of my life, spent in negativity, despair, rejection and defeat. Today I seek the mercy of the Cross, to break the cycle of failures, neglect and setbacks. O Lord Jesus, I choose today the power of your Divine Mercy, emanating from the Cross, to break those repeated patterns and cycles of setbacks, failures and inequities plaguing my life. Today I claim the Word of God, the word that became life giving flesh, that of Divine Mercy. In confidence I claim the mercy of God promised in Romans **Chapter 9 : 15,16 : “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion. It depends not on human will or exertion, but on God who shows mercy.” I claim this promise of God’s mercy, to do miracles in my life. Let this mercy from the Cross, pierce and penetrate my bone and marrow, to uplift and completely transform me and my family for generations to come. May your Divine Mercy O Lord Jesus, go before me like an armoured vehicle breaking down and splitting apart - the Jericho walls, the bronze gates, the red seas and the mighty mountains – which is standing my way of growth and transformation. From this very moment Lord Jesus, I choose to walk by faith and not by sight, as I claim the Divine Mercy into every area of stagnation...
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You..
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of bitterness and unforgiveness.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of animosity and resentment.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of sickness and every ailment in my body.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of desolation and hopelessness.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of fear and anxieties.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of panic and agitation.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of aversion and phobia.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of pain and grief.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of constant failures.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of rejection and neglect.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of repeated setbacks and failures.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of discouragement and despair.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of demotivation and hindrance.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of abuse, addiction and lust.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of hatred and lack of love.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of prejudice and insult.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of dullness and foolishness.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of instability and doubt.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of insecurity and weakness.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of fear and doubt.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of suspicion and distrust.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of uncertainty and imbalance.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of retardation and curse.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of hindrance and obstruction.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of discontinuation and suspension.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of condemnation and demotion.
O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You to break the cycle of judgement and criticism.
By the power of the Divine Mercy, I now claim the Psalm of Restoration as in Chapter 126 :
1 When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,[a]
we were like those who dream.
2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with shouts of joy;
then it was said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
3 The Lord has done great things for us,
and we rejoiced.
4 Restore our fortunes, O Lord,
like the watercourses in the Negeb.
5 May those who sow in tears
reap with shouts of joy.
6 Those who go out weeping,
bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy,
carrying their sheaves.
Mother Mary, Queen of all patriarchs and prophets, intercede for me and all your children, who have recourse to thee. Mother most faithful, Increase my faith to say Yes to God’s plan, as you taught us in your fiat. To accept in faith - the joy, the cross and the ultimate Glory through your son Jesus, in accordance with the will of God. Remind me O Virgin most powerful, that the mighty one, my Lord, El Shaddai, has done great things for me in the past and that his mighty hands will do the impossible for me in the present and in the future. Amen.
Repeat the prayer as many times possible... And may the Power of His Divine Mercy sanctify and build you up, breaking the repeated patterns of failures and sin.

St. Benedict Novena Prayers

St. Benedict's feast day is July 11th but you can pray the St. Benedict Novena for any reason that you want, so go ahead and start praying!

St. Benedict   is a popular saint, known primarily for the Benedictines, who are named after him, and for composing the Rule. There are words in the novena prayers which are quotes from the prologue of Benedict’s Rule, so that we may not only ask for his intercession, but also ask him to pray with us using the words he himself wrote. The Rule combines spiritual and administrative wisdom to provide guidance for the religious who wish to follow the monastic lifestyle. It includes a schedule for daily life tasks such as when to pray, work, and sleep. Many religious orders around Benedict’s time adopted it for their own religious orders and many still use it today. But it is not just those in religious orders whose lives seem to follow some kind of “rule.” This novena will pray for all those who are subject to and disciplined by schedules, either in accordance with or against their wills.

St. Benedict   was born in Nursia, Italy around 500 AD. Born into a wealthy family, he was sent to Rome to finish his studies, but he left Rome before finishing because of the sinfulness in the city. He became a hermit under the monk, Romanus. Some monks sought out St. Benedict to live according to his ways, but he warned the monks that it would be too strict for them. They insisted, and once they found that Benedict had been correct, they decided to poison him. When St. Benedict blessed the poisoned wine that they offered him, the glass shattered, saving his life. Benedict left them and established twelve monasteries. It was for his monastery in Monte Cassino that he wrote the Rule for which he is known. The Rule, based on the writings of saints and the existing tradition of Christian monasticism, provides guidance for how to practically live the monastic life. It designates sufficient time for daily prayer and meditation, manual work, leisure, and sleep. It provides instruction on spirituality (e.g., obedience, humility), daily life practices (e.g., how to dress, how much food to eat at meals), and specifics concerning how to run a monastery (e.g., how to receive guests and handle unacceptable behavior from the monks). St. Gregory wrote a biography on St. Benedict, which is how we know some of the details concerning his life (though it is not written in a way that we would think of as a biography). He wrote it primarily to inspire the people at a time when there was political conflict and conflict in the Church, so that they could better recognize that God was still working through His people.

May it still lift our spirits to know that there are Benedicts in the world even today, who show us that God is still with us in every age throughout history.

St. Benedict Novena Prayers

St. Benedict Novena - Day 1

Holy St. Benedict, I ask that you pray with me now to our God, using your words for the intentions that are written on my heart. What can be sweeter to us, dear ones, than this voice of the Lord inviting us? Behold, in His loving kindness the Lord shows us the way of life. Let us ask the Lord that He supply by the help of His grace what is impossible to us by nature.  (State your intentions here) Today, I offer to God the burdens that I experience with my own routine, for the sake of those who are in religious orders, in a particular way for those living according to Benedict’s Rule. May they find God through the discipline of their schedules. Having our loins girded, therefore, with faith and the performance of good works (Eph. 6:14), let us walk in His paths by the guidance of the Gospel, that we may deserve to see Him who has called us to His kingdom (1 Thess. 2:12).  Amen.

May they find God through the discipline of their schedules. Having our loins girded, therefore, with faith and the performance of good works (Eph. 6:14), let us walk in His paths by the guidance of the Gospel, that we may deserve to see Him who has called us to His kingdom (1 Thess. 2:12).  Amen.

Let us ask the Lord that He supply by the help of His grace what is impossible to us by nature.  (State your intentions here) Today, I offer to God the burdens that I experience with my own routine, for the sake of children, whose daily schedules are determined by their parents, teachers, coaches, and leaders of other activities. May they find God through the discipline of their schedules. Having our loins girded, therefore, with faith and the performance of good works (Eph. 6:14), let us walk in His paths by the guidance of the Gosp Thess. 2:12).  Amen.

Let us ask the Lord that He supply by the help of His grace what is impossible to us by nature.  (State your intentions here) Today, I offer to God the burdens that I experience with my own routine, for the sake of those who are in the military, whose rigorous daily schedules are determined by their superiors and, at times, the circumstances of war.

2:12).  Amen.

AN INSPIRATION FOR MEN TO SAY THE HOLY ROSARY

Image result for rosary

I went to confession and mass yesterday. While I was sitting down saying my prayers before mass I noticed a man in his 30s kneeling and praying the rosary. This man oozed out manliness and strength. I have seen men talk about all the hours they spend at the gym and pump up their muscles but I just laugh. I have heard men brag about all the guns they own but I just laugh. Yet when I saw this man kneeling and praying the rosary I could not stop thinking about how strong and manly he looked. I only looked his way for about 5 seconds because I didn't want him thinking I was some sort of creep or something. Sadly so many people don't understand the rosary. Sadly so many Catholics (especially men) think the rosary is only for little old ladies. That is not true. The rosary is very powerful. A priest once said the rosary is basically a mini-bible. If more and more people (especially men) prayed the rosary every day there would be a revolution. A good revolution.

GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

This coming Sunday, June 9, the Catholic Church celebrates the Solemnity of Pentecost, or the great Feast of the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity. We should pray often to the Holy Spirit to receive His Seven Gifts. Would you like to know what the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit are?

Would you like to know about the GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT in details? Here are the following Gifts:
1. WISDOM. We receive the gift of wisdom to help us understand the things of God, and to direct our whole life and all our actions to his honor and glory. Wisdom helps us see the world differently and from God’s point of view.
2. UNDERSTANDING: The gift of understanding enables us to know more clearly the mysteries of faith.
3. COUNSEL (also known as Right Judgment): The gift of counsel helps us to discern what is right and what is wrong. It assists us in our ability to choose the path of God.
4. KNOWLEDGE: When we receive the gift of knowledge, it enables us to discover God’s will in all things. “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).
5. PIETY (also known as Reverence): The gift of piety helps us to love God, our merciful Father, and to obey his precepts out of love for him. It moves our heart from serving God out of duty and obligation into a relationship of love.
6. FORTITUDE (also known as Courage): While the gifts of knowledge and wisdom help us know what we should do, the gift of fortitude strengthens our will so that we can actually accomplish what is true, good and beautiful. This gift is sometimes called the gift of courage and helps a person stand firm, even when persecuted, in doing the right thing.

7. FEAR OF THE LORD (also known as Wonder and Awe): Commonly misunderstood as the fear of a wrathful God ready to smite us, the gift of fear of the Lord is actually more positive than negative. It consists of a recognition of the grandeur of God and his primacy over all things. Fear of the Lord recognizes that God is the creator and sustainer of the universe and we are his creatures. This gift helps us to understand how we must depend on God for everything. In other words, he is God, we are not.

Prayer for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Prayer for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit

God poured out the Holy Spirit abundantly on us through Jesus Christ our Savior (Titus 3:6)

O Lord Jesus Christ, Who, before ascending into heaven, didst promise to send the Holy Ghost
to finish Thy work in the souls of Thy Apostles and Disciples, deign to grant the same Holy Spirit to me, that He may perfect in my soul
the work of Thy grace and Thy love.

Grant me the Spirit of Wisdom
that I may despise the perishable things of this world and aspire only after the things that are eternal,

the Spirit of Understanding
to enlighten my mind with the light of Thy divine truth
the Spirit of Counsel
that I may ever choose the surest way of pleasing God and gaining Heaven,

the Spirit of Fortitude
that I may bear my cross with Thee,
and that I may overcome with courage
all the obstacles that oppose my salvation,

the Spirit of Knowledge
that I may know God and know myself
and grow perfect in the science of the Saints,

the Spirit of Piety
that I may find the service of God sweet and amiable,
the Spirit of Fear
that I may be filled with a loving reverence towards God, and may dread in any way to displease Him. Mark me, dear Lord, with the sign of Thy true disciples and animate me in all things with Thy Spirit. Amen.
